Those dingy tattoo parlours that you so often pass by on a drunken night, when the neon signs or flashing, but no one is actually home, often seem to have such appeal. Do they have that same appeal in the day time, you wonder. And so you chance it, and pass it, and it does. In fact, the neon lights have more when you can see the inside, when you know you can go in.

Maybe it is the colorful walls. Or perhaps it is the rails of sketches that are enticing you to look through but simply being that makes you feel part of it. So you flick through, the guy at the counter who looks like a human advertisement for tattoos ignoring you coolly as you look.

Just when you’re about to give up, allowing a wry smile at your own foolish notion that maybe you would actually get a tattoo for yourself, you come across one which makes you wonder if it was not so foolish an idea after all. You know that a butterfly or a fairy is so cliché, but you want to get one anyway, because they’re beautiful.

To all, butterflies are a vibrant symbol of transformation. They are the complete and utter depiction of a fragile world where change is extremely common, in fact, when change is just the cycle of life. And this symbolism has not been lost on you either. Drawn to it, you know you want something like that.

Not completely sure you glance through again. Flip. Flip. And there, another butterfly, but this time, it is settled upon the outstretched hand of a fairy. You wonder how she can do that, butterflies die when they come into contact with a human hand. But a fairy is not human, and again, with your lips turning at the edges, you see how magical she is.

Would it not be great to have magic in your life again? Just as you did when you were a child, before you changed, before you grew up. Would it be great to see beauty, and nature, and life completely freely once more. Heading over to the guy at the desk, you ask if there is any way to put the two together, that butterfly that made you think, that fairy that made you smile.

We’re breaking down Miley’s new tattoo, right here on Clevver TV. Hey everyone! You’re watching Clevver TV and I’m your host Dana Ward. That’s right. Miley Cyrus got some ink on her skin and it’s looking pretty permanent. The Disney star reportedly got a tat just under her heart and chest that reads the words “Just Breathe.” It’s being mentioned that these color-pricked words may actually serve as a memorial of sorts for Miley’s friend who passed away from Cystic Fibrosis in 2007. The first time this skin art saw the public eye was when Miley sported a hot pink bikini while in Miami early December. Interestingly, the tattoo got spotted just shortly after Miley’s bro, Trace, spoke out that MC was about to get a matching one with him. Yep, the older bro said that ditto-ing the tattoo-ing is something that is meaningful and you should do it with someone you’re close to, like a sibling. So what are we thinking about this new “Just Breathe” tattoo? Do you guys think Miley’s trying to break out of her Disney mold by doing something daring? I mean, it’s not even legal to get a tat under the age of 18 without parental consent, and Cyrus – hello – just celebrated her 17th birthday. Also, gotta throw in that Lindsay Lohan – another young star who red carpet walked her way into adulthood – rocks a tattoo of the word “Breathe” on her wrist. Leave your opinion below. I’m Dana Ward at our Beverly Hills studio. Don’t forget to check our out Twitter page …

Lower Back Tattoo Designs For Girls

Lower back tattoo designs are a popular form of tattoo designs. Lower back tattoo designs are just so damn hot and sexy on a girls. There is nothing more hot than tribal tattoo designs or floral tattoo designs peeping out over a girl’s bikini. The most popular lower back tattoos are tribal tattoo designs or floral tattoo designs. All tattoos should have a personal meaning, but the best thing about lower back tattoos is that they can have that special meaning and also look so dangerously sexy!

Why Lower Back Tattoos are so Hot? To put it simple, lower back tattoos are sexy, hot and classy. Lower back tattoos especially look hot on the feminine body, the beautiful curves and shape of the female body all seem to converge to the lower back.Lower back tattoo designs have the ability to accentuate the shape of the female body and create the much desired hour glass effect. Many different styles can be adopted for lower back tattoos – Tribal, Star, Butterfly, Celtic, Dolphin and so many more. Many celebrities have lower back tattoos these days. Sarah Michelle Gellar has a gorgeous pair of purple dragonfly tattoos on her lower back. Pamela Anderson has been seen showing off her tribal tattoo design on her lower back. Anna Kournikova has a large star tattoo design on her lower back. Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts have also joined the lower back tattoo revolution. You don’t need to be rich and famous to get more attention, just compliment your natural beauty with a hot tattoo!

Basically, girls are more style conscious in choosing their tattoos than guys. They spend lots of time thinking of the right tattoo to put on their body, and on which part of the body they should wear it. On the contrary, guys decide and choose their tattoos at the spur of the moment and just have it done on their body.

Tattoo artists claim that that on comparing guys and girls, it is girls who are better and easier to tattoo. This is because girls can deal with pain and handle pain much better than guys. Although guys think they are tough and can control pain, when the needle hits their skin, most guys pass out.

Recently, girls have been opting for large tattoos with designs of ‘New school’ hearts, stars, roses and tribal tattoos. Then there are angels, cross, butterflies, fairies, flowers, henna and numerous Christian symbols that are being used as tattoo images. Of the lot, the cross is the most famous tattoo.

There are some girls who prefer getting zodiac symbols and celestial bodies like the sun or moon as their tattoos. There are also different symbols of good luck for people of different cultures that are used as tattoos. Of course, like always, the most popular girl’s tattoo is to engrave their benefactor’s or sweetheart’s name on the body.

Basically, girls tend to turn to delicate and minimalist tattoos for their bodies. However of late, they have started choosing larger and more aggressive tattoo designs with popular female tattoos becoming more and more experimental every day.

Tattoo aftercare is vitally important to the health of your new tattoo, and it must not be ignored. Many people believe that once the needlework is done, their tattoo is a lock, but that is far from reality. The fact is that unless you properly care for your new tattoo, it could easily fade, lose saturation, flake, scar, or you could wind up with an infected mess on your body.

But if you ask a dozen tattoo artists how to take care of a new tattoo, you’ll probably get a dozen different answers. The conclusion is that no one knows precisely what will work for everyone, so your best bet is to follow a conservative, consensus-driven aftercare procedure.

Before getting into any specifics, it’s important that you follow your tattoo artist’s directions precisely. If their guidance conflicts with this article, always refer to their instructions. But in the absence of directions, here’s what you need to know.

Tattoo Aftercare Do’s

* Do use an approved aftercare moisturizer / healing cream
* Do leave your initial bandage over your tattoo for at least four to six hours, but no more than 12 hours
* Do keep your tattoo out of direct contact with water (this includes the shower)
* Do keep your tattoo moisturized
* Do pat your skin dry when the tattooed area gets wet

Tattoo Aftercare Don’ts

* Don’t expose your tattoo to sunlight until fully healed
* Don’t submerse your tattoo in water, and especially avoid chlorinated water
* Don’t let your tattoo dry out completely
* Don’t over moisturize your tattoo
* Don’t pick your tattoo scabs
* Don’t cover your tattoo with a bandage once the initial bandage has been removed
* Don’t scratch, bruise, or allow anything to rub against your tattoo with friction

Tattoo Aftercare Procedure

1) Four to six hours after you leave the tattoo parlor, wash your hands thoroughly with an antibacterial soap. You’ll want to ensure that your hands are free from dirt, germs, or anything infectious.

2) Carefully remove the bandage that was placed over your tattoo at the parlor. With a mild antibacterial soap, carefully wash the tattooed area, removing any of the greasy covering, ink residue, blood, etc. You’ll know the area is clean when it just feels like wet skin. Be very gentle with your skin. Pat your skin dry — do not brush or rub dry.

3) Apply a thin layer of moisturizer / healing ointment. Popular brands recommended at parlors include A&D Ointment, Neosporin, and Bacitracin. There are also tattoo-specific products that are designed exclusively for aftercare, and they include Tattoo Goo, H2Ocean Aftercare, and Black Cat Tattoo Cream. If you have a large, expensive tattoo, or a tattoo with deep colors that you want to protect, they are probably worth the investment.

4) Three to four times per day, apply a thin film of anti-bacterial / healing ointment to your tattoo. You will want to use enough to moisten the tattooed area, but not so much as to leave streaks or allow it to build up. Your goal is to moisturize the area only, so start with a small amount and work it in with your fingers.

The problem with over moisturizing the skin is fading inks. If you slather on a thick coating of Neosporin and keep it moist throughout the day, your tattoo might heal in just over a week — but the inks will fade. If, however, you lightly coat the area three to four times per day, your tattoo might take two to three weeks to heal, but the colors will set properly. The lesson to learn is healing quickly does not necessarily mean healing properly.

5) Cover the tattooed area with light, loose fitting clothing, and be mindful of your tattoo. Don’t scratch or pick your tattoo! If you must, gently slap the skin or use rubbing alcohol to relieve any itching or irritation.

While there might seem to be quite a few steps to follow, they are quite simple. The bottom line is that you need to pay attention to your tattoo, and allow the body to heal itself as naturally as possible. You will do everything you can to assist that process, but you don’t want to rush it — just help it. If you can do that, and stay diligent with your care for 2 to 3 weeks, you will be blessed with a rich tattoo that can be enjoyed for years.

Following these steps will ensure that your tattoo heals quickly and properly, and will help the inks set and stay vibrant and bold. Then you can enjoy your new tattoo for a lifetime.

1. Tattoos last a really long time. They are a peice of body art that literally sticks with you for years upon years.

2. You have to look at the same tattoo every day. This may not seem like a big deal, but whatever design you choose, you are stuck with it, like it or not. So getting something pleasing on your eye is still extremely important.

3. They can be really expensive. Tattoo artist charge a significant amount of money for the work they do. It’s not that they are overcharging, they have a really specialized job. So before they do the work, make sure it is what you want.

4. They can be a deep expression of your inner self. So what exactly does that mean? Well, tattoos are something that should be sacred. They become part of your body and should be meaningful, if for nobody else, yourself. Tattoos should be the ultimate form of self expression. With that being said, they should mean something to you that is quite timeless and universal… the perfect tattoo.

Put that list of four together, then you have a pretty big decision on your hands. This is something you shouldn’t rush and you should exhaust all options and resources before deciding on one. So what are some tattoo ideas you could consider? This article is going to cover three different tattoo designs: Zodiac tattoo designs, celtic tattoo designs and tribal tattoo designs and some meaning and/or history behind each.

1. Zodiac Tattoos – Also known as astrological tattoo designs, the zodiac style is based off of your own star sign. Dependent on what date you were born, there are twelve options as there are twelve zodiac signs or symbols. Each zodiac symbol represents certain characteristics of a person born within that time as well. In this case you would read up on the various characteristics of your specific zodiac sign and see how well it matches your personality. Many find that they can connect very closely to their personality. The website listed at the bottom of this article explains each zodiac sign as well as other tattoo meanings. Whether you want a pisces tattoo, a gemini tattoo, libra, cancer or leo tattoo, make sure it fits who you are.

2. Celtic tattoos – The celtic tattoo design, which is often made of interlinking knots come from a culture known as the Celts. The Celts were a generalized group of people from Indo-Europe and surrounding areas in the pre-christian era. Celtic art is very intricute and often beautiful art. The architechural and design art commonly associated with the Irish, Scottic and Norwegian regions. The art is very “old world” and is very popular in modern jewelry. Celtic tattoos often come in the form of the celtic cross, celtic hearts and among many other celtic tattoo designs. Much of this type of art symbolizes old culture thinking and getting back to the root of things.

3. Tribal Tattoos – Tribal tattoo designs are a general term for tattoos that resemble tribal-like markings of early cultures. The most commonly seen type of tribal tatto design consists of thick sharp edges that move around the part of the body like really thick rose thorns. Tribal tattoo art is often thick, sharp and twisty. Even Celtic art could be considered tribal. Some meanings that can be associated with tribal tattoo designs is of the need to get back to the primal uncivilized part of man. Early tribes used tribal tattoos for a variety of reasons from Egyptian priestesses to native American sages to do such things as magical protection or to show victory in times of war. In actuality tribal tattoos can mean anything to the wearer of them. In fact, you could create your own tribal tattoo with its own meaning if you want to get really creative.

Deciding on the right tattoo design or tattoo sketches can be a real challenge, but educating yourself to their meanings and seeing a variety of different kinds can help make the decision that much easier. Take your time, exhaust all your options and resources, discover the various meanings, meditate on who you really are, and make your move a smart one.
